SORRY FOR LONG POST

I was on 100 mg zoloft for 5 months. I stopped using it because it wasn't working for my OCD and have not switched to anything else, because I don't want to be on meds (working through it in therapy). Anyways, I had some withdrawal symptoms that made sense to me like blurry eyes, night sweats, crazy dreams, headaches (all now gone). NOW, the right corner of my mouth itches like crazy and the right side of my jaw sometimes feels rather numb and tingly. I also had really itchy skin on my face but that was all over my face and has now since ceased.

Now its just the itchiness in the corner of the mouth. I was somewhat concerned because I have HSV1 and will get a cold sore on occasion so I was thinking it was that but no coldsore ever appeared. Two weeks ago I went to the doctor and told her what was going on but she couldn't see any signs of HSV 1 in the corner of my mouth and she thought I might have cheilitis. She prescribed me with a higher does of hydro-cortisone and I'll be honest, I've sucked at using it....the itching is still there and it's driving me crazy. Has anyone experienced itchy lips at all as a withdrawal symptom or do you think its the cheilitis (I've looked up pics of cheilitis and my lips look nothing like it!) Oh and I should also mention that I am just finishing a round of antibiotics for perioral dermatitis on my face....THANKS!!

I took 100mgs of Zoloft twice a day for a long time and I never had any symptoms like that while taking it or afterward. Your doctor is probably right and I suggest that you take the med and see what happens.

That is rather bizarre. From everything you said I think I would suspect the antibiotic causing it. It sounds more like and allergic reaction thing than a withdrawal thing. I hope it goes away.

I was on the max dose of Zoloft for four years and never had any problems of withdraws when coming off of it.
I hope you figure out what's going on!
