So I have a bit of an anxiety problem, as well as an anger/mood problem. I get irritable really easily, I feel anxious and paranoid about my current relastionship, as well as other things. I'm always negative on myself (I have a low self esteem) I also am negative on music genres as well (Like rap) I've thrown things when i've been anger, as well as cussed and yelled at my parents. I have major anxiety, like I feel like people are watching me and judging me, and I am very anxious around alot of people.. My self esteem is very low too. I aslo can't consentrate well in school..If i'm in the middle of doing something and I get in to it, When i'm interupted I get really hostile and angry. I think I might have a bit of an anger problem, anxiety problem, and ADD problem. Does/or would taking Lithium Orotate help? Are their any side effects, like sexuel wise? (like risk of errectile dissfuntion, less sex drive?) And if I run out of this, will i be so depended on it and go through withdrawls?

Welcome to Psych Central, The Madcap. Someone in this forum might be able to answer your question about the lithium: Psychiatric Medications - Forums at Psych Central.

Hello, The Madcap. Nice to meet you.

Actually, I don't think lithium is used for anger or anxiety issues. It's mostly used for people with bipolar disorder, but some doctor's my prescribe it for different things. I took it for a while and it wasn't a positive experience for me but everyone reacts differently. It left me feeling over medicated and lethargic.

The best way to find out if it would help you is to ask a doctor. A doctor is the only one that can tell if it is the right med for you and would also know the side effects.

Lithium Orotate?

As far as I can see lithium orotate is sold as an over-the-counter "nutritional supplement" by evidence-free alternative/complementary medicine people.

It is not approved by the FDA (the contrast is with lithium carbonate, which is approved for management of Bipolar Disorder).

The potential dangers of self-medication with lithium orotate are discussed here: Possible dangers of a “nutritional supplement” lithium orotate —
