Hi, I was wondering if anyone here takes neurontin? If so, can you tell me how you like it? I'm on 100mg 2x a day. Have you experienced weight gain while on it? What are you taking it for? Have you experienced side effects?

Hi Tangerine87,

I've been on it a couple of times anywhere from 300 to 600 mg. It's decent for anxiety. Very mild, much milder than a benzo like xanax. No weight gain for me at all even after a few months. Minimal side effects. My only issue was some anxious withdrawal for a couple of weeks when I tapered down. Hope this helps,

moogs

Hello,
I tried it about 10 years ago and it did not touch my neuro spine pain. I switched to Lyrica which was like a miracle drug to take away my consistent pain. That messed up my walking so I had to stop. I went back to Neuronin and took 300 mg 2 times a day and it messed up my walking also so I needed to stop both of them.

I took it for awhile. It was prescribed specifically for anxiety. I didn't find it all that great for my anxiety, but it sure gave me a heck of an appetite.

It is also prescribed to help with pain. Again, I didn't find it too great for that either.

I stopped it mainly because an hour after my bedtime dose, I was getting up out of bed to start cooking. That's how hungry it made me.

I take it as needed for anxiety. I usually take 400 to 600mg at a time. The amount you take is very low, but every reacts differently.

No weight gain. Side effects are minimal, I've noticed trouble recalling words.
