So I want to ask my psychiatrist to up the Prozac to 80 MG. I'm currently at 40 MG once a day. I was taking 40 MG for about 4 months, then I went on Effexor for a month, then no antidepressants for 2 months, now, it's been 2 weeks and I feel so much improved! I don't know if the Ritalin that was prescribed to me has helped, but I certainly think so (I researched that it helps depression). I've also been sleeping less, and doing more! I used to need about 10-14 hours of sleep a day, now I have awoken naturally after 6-8 hours, it's crazy getting to experience my days actually being long and productive. It's an odd thing to feel like this. So... Good, it's no longer cloudy, I have sunny days. Before, I would have a sunny day once in 2 weeks or so, now, I have 4-5 sunny days a day.
Last time I saw her, she gave me Prozac and Ritalin, I've been antidepressant free for 2 months. Last time I saw her, I asked to go back on Prozac and if we could add Abilify since it helps as a side kick. She said just Prozac, then next appointment we will see about the Abilify. What if we just up the dose to 80 MG instead of adding Abilify? How different will I feel?

It just makes my OCD worse when it is increased. Then it settles to that dose. I've tried 200mg a day (10 pills because I have a stalk pile of around 800 Prozacs) and it didn't make a difference. Just worsening of OCD.
You seem to sleep as much as I do without Concerta (Ritalin XR) so it could be the Ritalin. Wether you have OCD or not, you'll still get agitated symptoms at the start when increasing the dose and might even obsess or do compulsions and go manic let alone hypomanic. How is the provigil working out for you? I'm thinking of asking that or just simply increasing my Concerta to 108mg. |

Be cautious about adding an antipsychotic like Abilify to your meds, unless you're bipolar or schizophrenic. They come with a host of unwanted side effects.
80 mg of Prozac is too much for me to even get my mind around. I felt like I was coming unglued on 20 mg. But everyone is different. It might work for you.

Have you tried adderall? I've. Been on it for 4 years & i absolutely hate what it does to my anxiety but i literally need it to function! Considering switching to Ritalin. Im also on prozac.

I would honestly suggest no change in meds for now. There's a few reasons for this. #1 you've had quite a medication roller coaster for the past few months that it can be very tough on you mentally to know what's coming from outside factors, meds, your own mind. #2 prozac has a very long half life. At two weeks it's great you're getting benefit already, but it hasn't achieved its maximum potential of the 40 mg dose yet. It can be up to 2-3 months before you've seen maximum results.
