I've been on Cymbalta 60mg for 2 months now (30mg first month) combined with 50mg Lamictal for depression, anxiety and possible manic depression, with no positive results, only negative side effects: fatigue, insomnia, oversleeping, weight gain. I also take Adderall XR 30mg. Ever since I started Cymbalta I immediately began to feel zero benefit of the Adderall! Can the Cymbalta be counteracting the positive effects of the Adderall? (I've been on Adderall for 4 years) I feel like the Cymbalta is preventing the Adderall from working. I'm considering going back to Celexa because of this. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

It's an antidepressant which makes your anxiety lessen. Adderall induces anxiety which was your drive to do stuff.

You'll need a higher dose of Adderall
Thanks for this!

Thanks for reply. Upping my adderall is a last resort for me, I want to get off it as soon as I can. I'm already physically dependent on the 30mg & literally can't get out of bed & be productive without it. I'm terrified of digging myself into an even deeper hole. I believe my depression is what originally lead me to resort to adderall for motivation.

It's ok to be dependent on stimulant medication if you have ADHD or sleep a lot not due to depression.

If you have ADHD or Hypersomnia, I would just go "max dose for maximum effectiveness" - Quote from my first psychiatrist when I was starting meds lol now most say "Lowest effective dose".
Thanks for this!
