I get suicidal thoughts and high anxiety in the morning and feel hopeless with my mind contantly telling me life is pointless for the rest of the day. Cant concentrate on things or aware of my surroundings. Wondering if this might help with that. I'm only on 25 mgs because I want to start slow. This is only my 2nd day taking it but would like some positive stories. I'm very scared of taking meds because I know it gets worse before it gets better sometimes and I just got back from being hospitalized for strong suicidal thoughts. I don't want to end up back there. It made things worse. They prescribed me Rispordal which made me feel like a zombie and didn't help my thoughts.

I also have obsessive thoughts (about nothing being real) getting very confused and over rationalzing my anxiety.

100mgs is the best therapeutic dose as said above. I have been on zoloft on and off for a few years now (now on 100mgs) and it has been by far the most helpful medication. And I have tried many. Prozac gave me suicidal thoughts, cymbalta made me numb. Zoloft helps curb my anxiety and my OCD.
Give it some time and see how you feel. Take care.

It's good to start with a low dose and go up from there in order to give your body time to adjust this will minimize how bad things get before they get better. I took 25mg for a week and then went 50mg after that. When I started it, Zoloft broke my cycle of depressive, obsessive thoughts, but I stopped taking it because I felt blunted. Keep an eye out for bad side effects but otherwise give it time to see if it helps you. Are you receiving therapy or any other care in conjunction with the med?

I'm on 25 mg now as I wanted to start low as well, it's been almost three weeks and I'll be upping it soon. I didn't have any really nasty side effects and it's been working great for me. I am in a vulnerable time though so things still come through but for what I've been through...the zoloft is definitely helping me a lot.

I was on 50mg and it was GREAT, but then I dipped down into a fairly deep depression, so now I'm taking 100mg and things are going better.

I did very well on it. It probably helped my anxiety better than anything else. I also started slow and ramped up. Good luck!

Zoloft has been great for me. I am only on a very low dose and it works enough for me. Great for my social anxiety and OCD also.

Im on Sertraline 50mg as well. Been on it for just over a week and I have been more agitated, restless, I don't feel right and my impulse control is gone. I don't know if anyone else has had this or if I should contact my prescribing physician but it just don't feel right.
