I started Saphris last night (5mg) and it certainly made me sleep, a bit too much.

I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and I basically sleepwalked downstairs to do so, came back upstairs and passed out on top of my covers. Today when I woke up I was unable to go to class or work as I was so exhausted that I could barely keep my eyes open, let alone get up and function normally.

I slept for most of the day today and I've been awake for the past few hours. The only other thing I've noticed was that I'm hungrier than usual, but I have no problem with that. I am feeling a bit less tired now, but it's almost time to take another dose of it so that's probably why.

Will this go away after time? I need to go to class and live my life without sleeping all day

Edit: I'm also curious as to what Saphris will do for my concentration, if anything--nothing I've tried thus far has made me able to focus on things properly, so I'm stuck in the mood of sitting in bed, eating, and doing hobbies that don't require much thought most of the time rather than doing homework or other productive things.

It does go away after your body adjusts to it. I was on saphris for a while and I think after a week I was able to function fairly well on it. Keep taking it and your body will adjust.

It does get better for most people. I took it at night and always had a hard time getting moving in the morning. After I made my son late for school for the 4th time in a month, I decided I was done with it. I usually give all new meds at least 2-3 weeks before I decide if it's for me or not. Hope your body adjusts and things get better for you.

I've been taking it now for over 6 months and yes, your body does adjust and it doesn't make you as sleepy. I think it took a couple of weeks for my body to adjust and then when they raised the dosage, I had to go through it again. I function fine during the day, but I don't won't to take it until I'm ready for bed. It knocks me out pretty quickly. No need for ambien anymore.
