Has anyone had issues with Lamictal causing extremely intense anger and irritability? I am up to 150mg and have been for about 3 weeks. I also came off of 40mg of Celexa two weeks ago. I've noticed that I have been super angry lately, the smallest things can set off such intense feelings of anger and rage. It is starting to become problematic with my relationships because I am angry at everyone about everything and I can't handle it. I see my psychiatrist Tuesday anyways, but I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue. I've really liked the Lamictal up to this point so if it is causing this, that sucks!

On top of that I feel like I've been really spacey lately. Leaving words out of sentences, sending emails before I finish writing them and just general spacing out in the midsts of conversations. Overall I feel like I'm just walking around in a dazed confused angry state which is not fun.

I do also take Latuda, but it's 30mg on an as needed basis, so in the last 3 weeks I've only taken it 3 times, so I didn't think it was causing any problems.

I just made toast...without putting toast in the toaster. I am usually not this spacey!

Prolly more Celexa withdrawal than a Lamictal side effect.

I'm on lamictal too, and it's actually the opposite for me: I can't get angry at all (not that I want to be). Things that would usually put me into rage, that fire dies down instantly and I'm fine. I've been going down on the medication though because of feeling like crap all the time, and I feel the same things as you- sometimes spacey, I get angry... I just went down another pill and I actually feel pretty good. (Well, I have to go to work today... So I'm just tired lol). So, you could either be one of two things here: You could be just getting used to the medication, or it Could be some of the "bad" side affects. I know I saw the anger and irribilaty side affects under the "rare and concerning/dangerous" category, but don't quote me on that. I hope this helps and I'm sorry your going through this. Cheers.

Saw the Dr today. I told him about the anger but he didn't address it...so idk. He did say that lamictal can and probably is causing the cognitive issues and hopefully they'll eventually go away.

I've had no anger issues with Lamictal, other than when I didn't reach the therapeutic dose yet (300 mg). I still have the range of human emotions, but I don't cycle....much.

Hang in there hun and it'll get better! Give it time to do its job. Any immediate side effects will fade away. I love Lamictal as a stabilizer.
