My pdoc has switched me from Seroquel to Haldol. Just wondering what I should be expecting. Is it similar to Thorazine? I hope not, Thorazine made me a pacing zombie.

I told Haldol years ago .. I did have some akathesia issues after a few weeks of taking it , but my Pdoc and I figured out if I took a dose once every 3 days , It worked well but I did need to take Cogentin and Inderal at times to manage the Akathesia.

Good Luck

I have Cogentin kicking around here somewhere so I'll keep them handy just in case. Thank you

Hi ofthevalley

You might find the information in this link about Haldol and its possible side-effects helpful: Haldol: Indications, Side Effects, Warnings - Drugs.com .

I know that haldol is not prescribed nearly as much as it once was...I think because it does tend to have a really strong "zombie" effect...but my experience with it many years ago was pretty good. I remember that the haldol made me feel like I was having a mental break, which felt comforting to me.
