I took pseudoephedrine daily for a week and one day I didn't take it and felt very anxious and wanted to die.
This drug really helps me but now I'm worried it can make depression worse.
Im thinking about taking antidepressants but I don't know will it help and should I because pseudoephedrine is exactly what helps me and if I take antidepressants I need something like this- which is stimulating but doesn't make me anxious.
Is pseudoephedrine addictive? I dont take high doses but little bit more then therapeutic dose.
Do you think it's bad to take it?

P.S. I take also dextrometorphanum

I'm under the impression that it can have addictive qualities.

Anti depressants can have a side effect of sleeplessness.

Not sure, if that answers your question?

I don;t know. I'm just worried that on one hand it helps me but on other hand destroys me.
It's hard to understand is my depression and anxiety real or drug-made.
My T thinks it's bad but I don't really believe that antidepressants are better.
Now I feel like I'm not able to live without taking this drug because without it everythink seems senseless and I cry all the time, I can't do anything. But then I take this drug and everything is okay again.
My T doesn't know much about cough medicine so I ask here

YES it is very dangerous to take ephedrine long-term (more than a few days). It can be extremely damaging to your heart...among other big problems.

I once took over 2000mg and I didn't notice anything apart from blunted mood.

Methylphenidate also does that to me during the first few days but in comparison, the crash of methylphenidate is usually worse than cocaine let alone pseudoephedrine.

Btw they keep ephedrine behind the counter and you need a prescription for it I tried asking xp

lunatic soul, there is a lot of info online. This is pretty succinct:

epedrine...
stimulate the brain, increase heart rate, constrict blood vessels (increasing blood pressure), and expand bronchial tubes (making breathing easier).
Ephedrine may also be used as a precursor in the illicit manufacture of methamphetamine.[15]
Ephedrine has been used as a weight-loss aid, sometimes in combination with aspirin and caffeine.
Adverse effects of ephedrine consumption may include severe skin reactions, irritability, nervousness, dizziness, trembling, headache, insomnia, profuse perspiration, dehydration, itchy scalp and skin, vomiting, and hyperthermia. More serious potential side effects include irregular heartbeat, seizures, heart attack, stroke, and death.

I read it but serious side effects is when you overdose. My heart beats slower when I take pseudoephedrine, its easier to breath, it calms me when I am anxious. It seems its untypical reaction

Here's a good link: Ephedra: Banned by the FDA 2004

Have you ever seen a tweaker after years of use? Have you seen what they look like on the outside? Well, that damage is also going on inside. My sister used ephedrine for some years and is dying of heart disease that is 100% due to the ephedrine use (according to her doctors). Suit yourself. It's your heart, your lungs, your life.

I had to chime in here because I just saw last night a documentary about Hitler's doctor who administered, among other drugs, amphetamines. They believe this exacerbated Hitler's bipolar disorder.
Thanks for this!
