My new psychiatrist is putting me on long acting Abilify injectable.
He says that he's not going to increase my concerta but I don't see the problem when 72mg = 15mg 3-4x of Ritalin a day. It doesn't last long enough but if it was bumped up another 18-27-36mg then i would be able to have peaceful evenings. Or adding a ritalin at dinner so it lasts longer I asked my psychiatrist if I could try Vyvanse but he looked pissed off and told me to treat the schizophrenia first. He doesn't have any plans with stimulant medication and surely misdiagnosed me with schizophrenia for an excuse. Should I see a new pdoc? This is important to me because it's my life. If a psychiatrist wants to lure me to more sessions by saying "Maybe", I'm done. You know what it feels like to ask for a controlled substance? Pretty depressing.. I'm in a mental hospital and I feel fine. Just when the concerta wears off I would swallow a bottle of concerta or Klonopin to calm me down. |

If I were you and you're doubting the diagnosis, especially one as serious as schizophrenia, I'd get a new doc. That's just me.

I got the Abilify injection today and told my doctor about Vyvanse and she supports it's all good I think.
He says most schizophrenics have no insight so idk |

My psychiatrist said that he didn't say that he would increase or stop the concerta but he did say that so..
He wants to see if my cognitive impairment and confusion is due to schizophrenia paranoid thoughts, delusions etc. But the abilify already helped with that. The reason that I want a Concerta increase is so I don't go through withdrawals in the evening to the point where I get extremely agitated. No one believes that methylphenidate helps me in that way. I thought people are different. |

It wouldn't keep you up at night if you took it with dinner?
