Many of you probably read/heard about my experience this past week of feeling like I was in a mixed state/going hypomanic, spending 3 days inpatient without actually getting help, and being completely unable to reach my pdoc...

So here's the update:

My T called my pdoc, and my pdoc called back essentially saying that she's unwilling to treat me while I'm living here, even just until I get a pdoc here which should be about June, and even though I'm more than willing to drive the 3 hours to see her as necessary. My T did however give me the name of another pdoc in town that I could try, so I called, and told him the situation, and he asked when I'd like to be seen to which I said ASAP, and he said how about Friday.

Hopefully he's helpful and nice, I know nothing about him other than that my T must respect him because she wouldn't otherwise recommend him...and I hope it's worth the 6 hours in the car and $300 of my parents' money to pay him!

At least I have a better chance of something happening/changing seeing a pdoc who actually has time for me to discuss everything unlike the ones in the hospital.

Wish me luck! I'm planning on just seeing him until I can get into a pdoc here where I live though just because logistically it makes no sense to have a pdoc that's 3 hours away.

I'm so glad you finally got in to see someone. I hope he's helpful and you get what you need. Good luck.

Me too! It's ridiculous how much work I've had to put into this
