Its a benzo type med that ive been on for a while at a very low dose. I notice if I miss a dose or wait too long, my depression/mood is a lot worse. I dont understand this because it isnt necessarily an antidepressant med. Unless my depression feeds greatly off my anxiety. But the difference is so drastic that it lessens any suicidal "ideations" that come with my depression, unless those ideations are part of withdrawal effects when i wait too long or miss a dose of my antianxiety med? All in all, i know the med has a Strange, big effect on my depression/mood/motivation while lowering my anxiety/panic and OC symptoms it is used for, when taken. Dont understand, sort of worries me. I guess everyone's brain reacts different to meds

When I was on benzos daily (low dose, but still daily), it did impact my depresssion some. My p-doc explained to me that depression and anxiety are often very intertwined and that relieving one will often help the other. I'm taking other meds now, which impact my mood much more, and my benzo is just as needed. However, when I do take a benzo for anxiety, as needed, I do still notice a bit more of an uplift in my mood.

I went through a minor withdrawal when I switched meds, but it was mostly just headaches and a bit more anxiety at first (which could cause a slight increase in depression too). But that didn't happen after just missing one dose. It happened after cutting down from 3 or 4 doses per day to one or none. I cut back drastically, because I just didn't feel like I needed it with way the other meds were working. Probably should have cut back more gradually, but it wasn't too bad.
