I've been on Wellbutrin for a month. It gave me more energy, but the depression was still there. My doctor added Prozac with my Wellbutrin two days ago. He said the combination would work great together. Trazodone didn't help me sleep at all, so he discontinued it. Now, I'm on Doxepin for Anxiety and Insomnia. So far the Doxepin works well with sleeping.

I take Wellbutrin XL 300mg in the morning, Prozac 20mg in the morning, Doxepin 25mg morning, 1pm, and two at bedtime.

Anyone have experience with any of these medications?

Thank you for sharing your med experience. Sounds like you are fairly content with how things are going.

I've taken all of them at different times. I've been on wellbutrin for years and it's been the only med that's consistently worked for me, Prozac worked well for a while and then kind of stopped and I've never used doxepin for anxiety, I've used it for itching from allergic reactions (it works great for that), but it makes me really sleepy, so I can see how that would work well.
Glad it's working for you.
Thanks for this!

I am on Prozac 30 and Welburtin 150XL both in the morning. It's a good combo. For you, the test will be patince - it took 6 weeks before prozac was effective.

Good luck!

I have taken doxepin for sleep and anxiety in the past and it worked well but my pdoc thought it caused me mania so he took me off of it. Now I'm not allowed to take any medications in the same class as doxepin, which blows because I feel like those would help my sleep better than ambien which barely works on me.

I've been on wellbutrin 3 times. The first time was before I was diagnosed and put on a mood stabilizer and it just made me more anxious and agitated and I couldn't sleep hardly ever. The second time I was on like 9 other meds at the time and I didn't notice any effect. Now that I'm only on 3 total psych meds I can feel that it is helping my depression, energy, and focus (a tiny bit). I feel like it has raised my baseline from mildly depressed to "okay" or "fine", not sad, not overjoyed, but right in the middle where I should be.
