Took for first pill a few hours ago and about an hour later started having very bad intrusive obsessive thoughts. I'm now in bed but scared to get up- how can this be happening so quickly? Is this just my anxiety playing tricks on me or is it the pill?

Unlikely it is the pill from one dose. But could be possible if you have bad reactions to meds, call your pdoc if you are worried continuing it.

I had a similar reaction to Zoloft. Call your pdoc. Or take a Valium if you have one.

I can not take SSRI's. Never had prozac but zoloft was like a bad acid trip on my first low dosage pill. I would let the dr know.
Thanks for this!

I had greatly increased anxiety on Prozac--can't remember if it was the first dose, but definitely the first week. I tolerated other SSRIs better. Call your p-doc. Also, how high of a dose were you started on? You may need to start at a lower dose (or have a different SSRI).

20 is what she started me on... I have been on it before ( years ago ) and i don't remember having and side effects. I do have Lorazepam to control my anxiety while my body adjusts to everything but it isn't working as well as i had hoped.

I decided to try Prozac again .... I was on for over a year and constantly felt "off"

Took my second dose, hopefully today will be a little easier.
