I have now reached the 4 week mark on 10 mg daly lexapro after building up for several weeks before that. My pdoc prescribed ativan for anxiety which I don't take much because it knocks me out so I only took it on the weekend (once on Friday, once on Sunday, half of a .5 tab). However, now I am very foggy and sluggish. Could this be from the lexapro? I mixed up two appts. this week, and am having trouble with enouh energy to do what I need to do. I also have not been able to produce tears and have dry mouth and skin. Will this side effect even out?

I tend to have a dry mouth...since the years of nortriptylene so I can not speak to the thirst...I am often thirsty....
I was on lexapro for years and loved it. What time of day do you take the lexapro... I took it in the am but that was for the anxiety. I took 10 and when stressed would take .25-.5 at night. I have taken ativan for years .5-1. for sleeping and in way stressful times. I wonder if you need a bit more time but yes I sometimes felt lethargic but I did not know if that was the med or my depression speaking. Give it another month..... know that is rough. My now if you have not taken the ativan sinse Sunday it certainly is not the ativan...me thinks. I also naturally have dry skin... so no help there either. The liquids you drink for the dry mouth should assist???? and.... you know me... lol....no problem with tears for me. I have heard others that felt flat on it so ...... to each their own experience. Best wishes my friend. |

when I took too much at night... I was drowsy... I would maybe take 2.5 at night and on weekends bump it to 5 but indeed that did have a sedating effect..
also above I should have used 2.5 instead of .25 etc.. |
