I'll be starting this as a 2nd AP Wednesday and it's a pretty unusual med. I'm interested in any stories anyone has since there isn't anything specific about it's side effects anywhere. That makes me a little nervous.

I'd love to hear anything anyone has experienced with this drug.

Thank you!

I am not someone who has used this med, but your psychiatrist or pharmacist would be glad to talk about the side affects with you.

Since many people posted related replies on PC at different times, you may find these posts and blogs helpful

Actually it is so old that there aren't individual drug profiles for it, just a generic one that includes all old APs and that's not helpful because it is every side effect that could happen on the whole lot of old ones. And it is different than the others and is borderline atypical in how it works.

And they don't know from personal experience because nobody had used this drug in about 30 years. My pdoc works with mostly people who are exceptionally treatment resistant and is used to using very unusual strategies and she said she couldn't remember the last time she prescribed it and really didn't remember specifics of what it was like because she never had used it much at all. It just was a good drug to try because it has a few properties that would benefit me if it works.

But if I'm going to learn about it that is going to come from someone who has taken it.
