This thread is about Ritalin. It is an interesting drug. I am coming out of depression with Nortryptline and I am using Ritalin as an augmentation. Is anyone else using this or has any other member used this medication as an augmentation? I am finding this very effective.

Yes, I use it to augment my current regimen. I find it very helpful in overcoming the tiredness I have from depression.

^Thats what I find. One symptom that is always present in my depression is fatigue. Ritalin, being a stimulant, helps reduce that. Nortryptline, which primarily works on the norepenephrine neurotransmitter, is quite activating as well.

I used to take Paxil 20mg, and experienced pretty high levels of fatigue so I was prescribed Ritalin 20mg, which I currently still do take twice a day. It definitely works for depression and overall just enhancing your mood, but it helped with my energy levels as well.

I've been on this dose for about 2-3 years now, and it still works ok but definitely doesn't work as well as it used to.

Dr Peter R Breggin wrote a book about the medication. He has been slammed for getting it wrong. Dr Breggin seems to deny mental illness exists. Feel free to have a look at these notes
