I have several diagnoses and take quite a few meds: lisinopril, atenelol, pepcid, lithium, seroquel, effexor xr, trilafon, artane... I think that's it. Anyway my questions were on these- why is it if I take my night time meds and then stay up for a while I notice I get feeling intoxicated? Like I slurr my speech uncontrollably, feel elated, drunk, and stagger, dizzy, etc? Also is this normal or something I should be cooncerned about? Although I rather enjoy it, where I am not drinking and still feel like I have been. Any advice or comments are welcome.

Certain meds such as Seroquel for some make you a big droopy and so are prescribed in the eve. If you feel overly medicated you may wish to let your prescribing doc know. Also if you have several docs prescribing for you you need to let them all know what meds are bring prescribed to you. That way everyone knows everything about your medication situation.

Hi. Out of your meds listed, I've taken the lithium, which made me feel *drunk*. Also the seroquel, which will make you very sleepy. I've taken just 25mg of seroquel in the daytime to calm me down, and it does-I *have* to take a nap!

If your side effects bother you, call your pdoc for some reassurance (it helps me anyways Question on the meds for whoever wants to comment). You should call anyways, and tell them your concerns.

I read somewhere online that some meds are given at bedtime *because* of side effects.

It's like, my husband will take some lunesta(sleep aid), go run around and then say he feels dizzy. I told him, it's because you took a sleeping pill and are running around doing things! You're supposed to be in bed sleeping. Of course, you're not taking sleeping aids, but maybe you * should* be sleeping.

Hope this isn't coming off as smart-alecky, and I'm not in any way an expert, just trying to help!
