Anyone else have the issue of legs feeling like thy are crawling at night? Zoloft makes me tired but then I have a hard time sleeping cuz my legs feel like they're crawling about an hr after I take Zoloft. Lexapro didn't do this but made me too lethargic. Now I have crawling? I don't know what to do but it keeps me awake.
Sometimes stretching and walking for a few minutes helps but not always. I drink tons of water so no dehydration. I just don't know. I just don't know. Any ideas? Experiences? Please this is driving me a bit nuts.

Hey! Have you recently decreased the dosage? I do see it is listed under known side effects, but I personally have not heard of it.

I'm on seroquel and I get really achy lets (very rare side effect) my pdoc put me on a med to help and it works wonders, benztrop.
Have you just started zoloft? it may be worth going back to your prescribing dr and talking about this side effect you are experiencing.

I've been on zoloft for about 6 weeks I think and don't experience this side effect. I do take it in the morning though so maybe that makes a difference? Maybe try taking it in the morning and see if that helps

I can't take it in the morning it makes me too tired. My pdoc agreed I take it at night and Wellbutrin in the morning since it makes me a bit wired sometimes. I was put on Wellbutrin to counteract the tiredness from the lexapro and it does the same for the Zoloft.
Sad to say but Zoloft may not be for me. It may be time to try something new. ![]()

There's a side-effect called "Tardive Dyskinesia" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tardive_dyskinesia that might explain it. You might want to bring it up with your M.D. ![]() |

I had issues with agitation when I went to 100 mg of Zoloft. Not just my legs, but felt like I was crawling out of my skin, like I had to move. It could be something like that. I had issues with myoclonic jerks--where the legs or arms may jerk involuntarily--on Cymbalta (which is an SNRI). I think restless leg syndrome, which sounds like what you have, can be a side effect of SSRIs and SNRIs. So you may need to change medications...

The drug companies put this in their advertisements to shield themselves from liability. These movement disorders are serious and can be permanent.
