Hi,
I am sick of meds - they don't seem to work well and I get a lot of side effect - on too many, now lithium was added to the mix (on celexa and trazadone).

I was diagnosed with depression, but my moods fluctuate from horrible to quite good (but not really hypomania).

I was wondering - I tried St. John's wort for about 3 days and I think I went hypomanic after 1 day - anyone had this experience? was it just that there was a contaminant or something - it was too early to actually be working (takes weeks to have an effect).

I am tempted to stop all meds and try St. John's wort again, to see if I could try something more natural.
What do you think? Any similar experiences?

i have great faith in natural stuff i tried sjw but looking back my depression was too severe or else i wasn't taking enough,i've read the tincture works better than the pills 'i know people who swear by sjw. they helped me sleep well there are web sites on sjw why not check them out? what i did find was that apart from fatigue which could have been down to depression there were no side effects, like you, i can't say the same about prescribed drugs!!
