Hi,

I'm taking Mirtazapine since last tuesday, 15mg. I'm a long suffer from anxiety and depression. I need to take them until see my psychiatrist, in three weeks.

I see everyone who takes this drugs they start with 15mg first week (or 2 weeks), and them go to 30mg...

My questions is, will I see some results if I stay only with 15mg? My doctors says notthing to me about upping to 30mg later...

Lika li, everyone responds to meds differently and it can take weeks until you can see the ultimate affect of 15 mg. If you are having bad situations or side affects arise talk to your prescribing doctor.

If you are doing okay maybe it is best to just wait and talk to your psychiatrist in 3 weeks. They will probably reevaluate the situation in 3 weeks and decide at that time which dosage to aim for.

I read that mirtazapine is supposed to work faster than other meds. 15mg is a low dose, you probably notice that it has a strong sedating effect. Like with all meds, changing or going to a higher dose, you need advice from your pdoc.

Mirtazapine helps me with sleep, it does nothing for my depression. I am on 7.5mg at night.

Mx: To clean up the mess use lamotrigine, r
isperidon, mirtazapine and sertraline. Let it soak in for a while but keep a close eye on it. Meanwhile enjoy your desert of oxazepam/temazepam prn.
Thanks for this!

Hi Pearlys,

Thanks for asking!

I'm not taking mirtazapine anymore, I'm now with 150mg Effexor (venlafaxine).
