Anybody out there still get brain zaps even after weaning off of Cymbalta (duloxetine) or any other SNRI? If so, did you use any supplements that would help with this debilitating symptom? Any info would be much appreciated and would help make my life a little easier! Thanks in advance

I had that problem after stopping Effexor too quickly several years ago. (I take Cymbalta now and sometimes get them in the late afternoon - apparently my nighttime Cymbalta dose isn't lasting 24 hours.)
My understanding is that the zaps are caused by um, er, something to do with serotonin. I do know that even a tiny dose of any med like an SSRI will stop the zaps. If I was looking for a supplement, I'd probably try 5-HTP or L-tryptophan. And B-12, just because. That brain zap sound reminds me of the sound the monster makes in the "Folie a Deux" X-Files episode about the telemarketing manager who's really a large bug-like creature. ![]() Bzzt!
