I was wondering if you have controlled anxiety due to medication and you take a stimulant for ADHD, would it still cause you anxiety? I know anxiety is a symptom for stimulant ADHD medicine, but if you have some control (I am still very anxious, but not as much as before) over your anxiety, would the medicine to help ADHD make the controlled anxiety worse? Sorry, this is probably worded badly, but I tried my best. If you have been on a stimulant for ADHD and have some type of anxiety, what was your experience? What happened? Thanks for your response Taking ADHD medicine with anxiety? .

I am prone to anxiety and I almost only take anti anxiety meds at night. That means, I am unmedicated daytime. Daytime is also when I take stimulants. So even having the other med, it is basically out of my system when I add the stimulant.

I've had a few occasions of feeling hyper, like when you drink too much coffee, but without a mental anxiety. But mostly my anxiety actually gets better from the stimulant. So I guess stimulants are not anxiety provoking for all people.
Thanks for this!

I have heard that if the anxiety is caused by AD/HD, as in a secondary condition to the first one, and that is treated, the anxiety will go away.

But everyone is different, and if the medication helps your anxiety, good for you Taking ADHD medicine with anxiety? .

Thanks for your response.

Maybe that's it. I just have read that stimulants can increase anxiety if the anxiety is separate from the AD/HD.
