Severe weight gain, that's about it and the main reason I'm in the process of coming off several of the meds

I don't have side effects from my Luvox... but... forgetting to refill or them messing up so I don't get a refill on time.. Two days and I'm in hell. That med has awful withdrawals for me (does not for everyone). Otherwise it has been really helpful.

The Xanax is affecting my thinking and memory some. I'm OK to trade that for not having terrible anxiety, but... I wish I could have the best of two worlds...

The Ritalin... it's a love/hate thing. I like how I feel on it. I hate how I feel on it. It's hard to even describe! I'm off it right now and I think it is for the best! When I am on it I also think THAT is for the best... ???

I took one that caused memory loss. I don't remember taking it! I don't even know which one it was. My doctor was going though my history and said I had tried it and complained of disorientation so I was taken off it after a week. I have no recollection of this!

The only time I dislike my meds is when I'm trying to withdraw from a medication I've been on for a long time. Otherwise, I am incredibly grateful for my meds...I feel like they allow me to live a semi-normal life.
Thanks for this!

In no particular order - brain zaps, headaches, stomach cramps, nausea, akathisia, hypersomnia, restless legs, nightmares, irritability, sexual dysfunction of various kinds, disinterest in socializing, dry mouth, weight loss, odd cravings, brain fog, apathy, dulled affect, memory problems and meds suddenly not working anymore with no explanation. Meds and I apparently don't mesh well.

Vomiting, brain fog, more memory problems, more dissociation, shaking/tremors...only been on medicine less than a year. Some just make me so much worse, and destroy my life. Even though they seem to help at beginning.

I gained nearly 100 lbs on Seroquel, and I have bad acid reflux as a result of taking zopiclone. For a long time after I started Seroquel, about 45 minutes after taking it, my speech would start slurring and i couldn't have a conversation about anything important because I wouldn't remember it half an hour later. I once agreed to go on a date I didn't want to go on because my brain was so fogged up by Seroquel. It also gives me the munchies, and I often binged on any food in sight and only become aware of it the next morning seeing the remains of what I'd eaten on the kitchen counter. I hate seroquel, and now I am down from 700 mg to 250 mg, and hope to come off it altogether.

I agree with LauraBeth, I am very grateful that my meds help me handle my mental illness and allow me to hold a full-time job, engage with family and friends and have a normal life....but I do hate the weight gain;-).

I'm sorry, growlycat. Meds not working...that's a reason to hate them. Can you try other meds?
