I have ADD/ADHD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Clinical/Long-Term Depression. I'm taking medication for all 3.
ADD- Adderall - 30 mg x2 a day GAD- Sertaline(Zoloft) - 100 mg 1x a day Depression- Welbutrin 150 mg 1x a day I understand the purpose and side effects of each one. Which can be both frustrating and confusing considering some side effects could potentially counter-act eachother. Ive been on and off medication for so many years, I dont know what the end game is anymore. To eventually be off them permanently, to narrow down to just one, if I have to use these the rest of my life. I honestly wish I dont need medication, but alot of times it becomes impossible to function without them. Which honestly just feeds the disorders Im using them for because it feels like Im a broken shell without them and it makes me angry because of it. |

I had a second opinion at the university hospital with a renown depression-specialized psychiatrist two weeks ago and she suggested I quit all my psych meds in order to find out what's me/my problem and what's side effect. I'm presently tapering off VERY slowly (25% decrease in respectively 3 and 4 weeks) of 1 antipsychotic (I'm taking 2) and the antidepressant I'm on.
So you're not the only one who thinks side effects are counteracting. |
