I have been taking lithium (1000mg) for a few months now and have always had a dry mouth, metallic taste and some nausea. But I have just started venlafaxine (37.5 mg) and the dry mouth, nausea, metallic taste are all much worse and constant. Also, everything I try to eat or drink tastes vile which doesn't help with the nausea.
Has anybody had any experience with the, and it is likely to pass. I am due to increase the venlafaxine dose tomorrow (cross-tapering with imipramine) and I am really dreading the side-effects getting worse ![]() |

hi. i don't mean to scare you, but lithium can enhance the toxicity of some other psych drugs, so adverse effects are more frequent and sometimes more severe. i seem to recall reading that its a -big- issue with the tranquilizers/antipsychotics. i dont know about other classes of drugs.
