Just got out of the hospital where they change my meds to Prozac and Zyprexa. They said it is good for treatment resistant depression. Any one have any luck with this combination?

I've taken both of those meds. Prozac was alright I guess -- it was the first psych med I was ever on, so I didn't really know much about anything, but I took it for a year and it helped me, but it gave me headaches.

Zyprexa has been, by far one of the most effective meds I've been on, however, the regular Zyprexa made me gain a lot of weight, but the Zydis version (the meltable tabs) didn't, so I definitely suggest trying to get that. Don't ask me why the Zydis version didn't cause any weight gain for me, but just a little tip.

Good luck!

I've been on both. Prozzac didn't do much for me so I wasn't on it long.
I believe Zyprexa saved my life. I was in an ugly place before i started on it. I was paranoid and delusional (so incredibly delusional) but the Zyprexa kicked that all in the ***. Problem being that I've put on 20 lbs since starting Zyprexa 12 months ago. I don't think I can continue on it. Now the quest to find something that will work as well but without the weight gain

Before giving up on Zyprexa, try the Zydis (melting tab) version. That gave me NO weight gain, and on the regular version I gained 35lbs in 2 months!
