What combo of meds are you on and do they truely help? I'm seeing my PDOC today and everything we've tried so far has not helped/has made me manic/ or made me a zombie. I need something for my chronic anxiety - its so bad that I make myself literally sick. I'm also bipolar I.

So far I've tried:
Lexapro - made me like a zombie
Zoloft - same like a zombie and sexual side effects
Cymbalta - worse manic episode of my life to date
Lamictal - did not help at all - even at 300 MG
Lithium - apathetic zombie/depressed/weight gain
Abilify - helped for a while then stopped working - also fell asleep everywhere
Latuda - made me depressed

Any suggestions?? Thank you!!

Currently taking seroquel and trileptal was recently added. I have xanax for panic attacks.

To be honest, meds are not preventing my panic attacks or reducing my anxiety. I have an appointment Monday with a new therapist who specializes in PTSD/ anxiety disorders.
Everyone is different, but I'm beginning to think I really need intensive therapy just as much as I need meds.

Take care

Klonopin, trazedone, haldol, cogentin, and propranonol. The cogentin and propranonol are for side effects from the antipsychotic (haldol)

The Klonopin and trazedone are mainly for anxiety and sleep. I noticed you haven't tried those. Discuss it with your doctor.

600mg Seroquel ~ Bedtime
0.5mg Klonopin ~ Morning and Evening
300mg Wellbutrin ~ Half morning, half evening
50mg Hydroxyzine ~ 1-2 PRN

We're getting there I think... Still anxious in daytime, working with bi-weekly visits, so some tweaking may still be done.

The Trileptal alone worked for a couple of years then Paxil was added in. But because I started gaining a ton of weight from it, I was put on Pristiq, but then that became too expensive and I switched to Effexor. For the most part it works. It's only when the Effexor was increased because of a depressive episode at the beginning of the year that I had a hypomanic episode, so it has been decreased back to where it was and Wellbutrin was added temporarily. I see the pdoc in a couple of weeks to see if I need to stay on it.
Previous cocktails have included Cymbalta, Lexapro, Seroquel, Lamictal, Topomax and I can't remember the rest..
