Hey y'all. I was put on Seroquel for my sleep and PTSD because I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I always wake up in the middle of the night. Maybe getting 3 maybe 4 hours of sleep at night. My psychiatrist started me out on 25 mg. It helped at first and then stopped working. But I also noticed I started getting night sweats. I went back and he upped me to 50 mg. Again.. Worked at first and stopped working very quickly. My night sweats were worse. Sooo question is. Does anyone else get night sweats from the medication? And does it not work for y'all? I'm at a loss for words here. I'm on so many medications for bipolar, anxiety, PTSD, and nightmares. I'm tired of being on medications where I can't tell a difference and have constant fear and anxiety. The only thing that helped me in my past was my Xanax. And I'm no longer on that. Someone help? I need sleep and normality!
Thanks xoxo, Blue_Heron ![]() |

Seroquel did wonders for my sleep. I actually fall asleep and stay asleep now. I had a similar effect as you at first - a dose would knock me out at night for a few days, then I'd adjust to it. It didn't consistently work for me until I was at 100 mg. I'm now at 400 mg, which works very well for regulating my sleep and anxiety without knocking me out.
I have not experienced night sweats on it.

Yeah, I'm only on 50 mg... I want to up my dose, but I have night sweats! It's the strangest things! Idk if I should ask to switch to something else.. but idk what else works. My xanax before would work, but I no longer take that. I've taken Ambient, too, and that works... so Idk what other medications are out there lol that don't make me have night sweats. It's bad.

I don't have night sweats on seroquel but have had them on other psych meds. Seroquel doesn't help with my sleep at all.

I've been on seroquel on and off for insomnia for ten years now. For a long while it did wonders for sleep but I always had to up my dose because my tolerance would catch up. So like you, I started at 25mgs and now I'm up to 200mgs. And i can't take it two nights back to back anymore or it won't work. I'm frustrated and probably going to talk to my pdoc about switching to something else. As far as night sweats, I get them even during the day from my meds so I know how incredibly annoying it can be. I would talk to your pdoc about increasing your dose and maybe adding Zoloft for night sweats? I've heard Zoloft is prescribed for that too.
