It's hard not to think you're the one in control over your disorder. And it's even more normal for them not to have an insight about there current situation. But it's only time until they realize there condition is causing them significan distress or impairing there function and they'll want here meds back.

hi paz57,
my older sister stopped taking her meds for her bipolar disorder cuz she refused to take them cuz it was poisoned to her system. now she is taking meds for her lupus but she not taking any prescription drug from her doctor . if a family member refuses to take meds for her mental illness , she will get worse and she not be able to cope with life at all . meds and counseling are. a twofold process . they have work with each other in order to be effective for her recovery process .

Diagnosis: Anxiety and depression
meds : Cymbalta 90mgs at night
Vistrail 2 25 mgs daily for anxiety prn
50 mgs at night for insomnia
