Well, I usually get in worse shape this time of year and it happened again. So I was at my psych's office yesterday and told her I was really stressed and had been really shopping, I thought because I was stressed. She could tell I was still stressed, even after adding the Risperdal, even though that's helped some. So she lowered my Wellbutrin to 150 mgs for now because she said the shopping was manic (even though I'm not bipolar) and upped the Risperdal to 2mgs. I started the Risperdal 2mgs last night and today is my first day going from 450 mgs of Wellbutrin XL to 150 mgs. I definitely feel having less energy without the higher dose of Wellbutrin. I'm supposed to see her next Tuesday to checkup and see how things are going.

Hello Anxietygirl74: Changes in medications always seem to create a certain amount of confusion, at least that has been my experience. I hope that things settle down for you soon.

Thank you for your response. I am feeling more calm with the increase in Risperdal. I still wish I had the larger dose of Wellbutrin XL back for the energy, but it's probably a good thing I don't because of the holidays always causing me so much anxiety as it is. And I'm sure the Risperdal will probably help even more once I've had it in my system longer.

I am sure in time the medicines will balance themselves out. I am glad that you have a therapist to help you out. tc

I found wellbutrin to be way to stimulating for someone with anxiety- even at lower doses. May I ask why you are taking it..what is it for?

I also have depression that can get pretty bad. Wellbutrin I have actually done pretty well with in my cocktail. Celexa was the med that set me over the rails with anxiety. I'm on Wellbutrin because of my depression and also probably (please stop reading now if you get triggered) my uncle committed suicide 2 1/2 years ago his depression got so bad. I've gone inpatient twice because of my depression getting really bad.

Oh, I understand ..I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm glad to hear its working but I would say that you could try lowering the dose of wellbutrin..that def. does increase anxiety.
