Hi! I'm new to the group. I'm sorry if this question had already been asked, but 2 weeks ago I was started on latuda. I'm a wreck. I am very irritable of late, and I'm suddenly crying for no reason. Has anybody else experienced this after taking latuda? Thank you.

Latuda Uses, Dosage & Side Effects - Drugs.com

apparently, according to the link above, this is a common side effect when you first start taking it.

I'm so sorry to hear that Latuda did this! I have been on it for a month now and it has really helped me, in fact I am upping my dosage this week, as it helped, but I'm just not where I want to be.

I take Latuda for Bipolar depression (could be schizophrenia,I'm new to this). The side effects have been minimal. Check back in and let me know how you're doing, OK?

I'm taking Latuda and I haven't had any side effects. It's working for me. I would talk to my doctor about the effect it's having on me.

I had that from the lamictal and the latuda helped quell it. Odd how we all react differently to the same meds. Give 10 people the same psych meds and you'll get 10 different reactions.

Latuda is my friend. It took 5 weeks for us to get to know each other.

Are you taking it for Bipolar or psychosis?

I've been on it for 1 1/5 years now and it's a love/hate relationship. It has definitely made me more rational and got rid of all delusions. It works super well for that. It doesn't work so well at preventing depression though; I still get low. It also doesn't work as well for getting rid of the highs- Abilify seemed to work a lot better at getting rid of the irritation/brain frazzles that I always get in spring/summer. Overall it's a pretty good med though. I don't really have any side effects, other that it making me super sleepy after I take it, and decreasing my motivation overall. It doesn't affect my blood sugar like Abilify did.
I think it's a better drug for psychosis-related disorders than for bipolar, in my experience.
