Hi I am 25 years old and I have been on zoloft for about 5 weeks now. I am on 75mg. I am on it for panic attacks. So the panic attacks went away at about week 2 on the medicine but around week 3 I started getting REALLY bad headaches that last all day. Then about a week ago the headaches sort of went away but now I suddenly feel cross eyed. It doesn't look like I am cross eyed though. I went to the hospital Thursday because I was so scared I thought i had a tumor or i was going blind or something and the MRI came back fine and blood work is all ok they said it could be vertigo and gave me anti vert which is a medicine to treat that. That medicine doesn't work at all for me I tried taking it for 2 days and I still have this weird cross eyed vision thing. It actually gives me a headache and hurts my eyes. I hate to even look around. I am trying to find out if this will go away soon since I am on week 5 I know this is like the main time when side effects happen. I know my doctor will change me to a different medicine if i tell her this is going on but I really don't want to get on a different medicine and deal with the side effects from that too.

UGHH I feel like every week is a new side effect with this medicine I am looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. I can honestly cry just writing this because I feel so helpless. I never had depression or any kind of mental illness that I needed to be medicated for but the panic attacks I had last month were horrific and I always ended up in the hospital.

Thanks to anyone that has any info, I really appreciate it!!!
Hugs from:

I'm so sorry that you're dealing with this. I used to get terrible migraines from ssri's and found taking Advil just as soon as I felt the headache coming on helped.

Hello, jerseybreeze, and welcome to Psych Central! How are you doing? I suggest talking to your doctor. I have had lots of side effects and been taken off some drugs. That sounds like a terrible side effect to me. I'm going to read about zoloft. It's actually a drug I've never been on.

Vision problems can be part of a migraine. You might want to try taking advil and drinking a coke when the symptoms start. If these are a side effect, they may still go away. I sure hope they do

I know exactly what you are talking about because I had the same effect from a few drugs. Not Zoloft tho. Be sure to tell the prescribing doc as soon as you can. Are you taking anything else with Zoloft?

Add: Some over the counter drugs and/or alcohol can interact with prescribed meds. Even natural supplements. Be sure to tell your doc everything you are taking/using.
