I was worried that when I finally got new insurance, that Abilify would work wonders for me. I googled it, checked forums etc. and no one was talking about it.
I moved from the east to the west coast in September. Had an almost two month supply of Abilify and started halving it to make it last (real glad I did). When I arrived, had to find a general doc to get referral to pdoc, then wait 30 days for apt with him. Then wait until 2/1/16 for my new insurance to become effective. I wanted to stay in bed all day....all the usual depression symptoms. In the meantime, figured I would pay cash for the Abilify until Walmart told me it was $1200. for my 30 day supply. Discount card got it to $679. I had been taking it for a year and had no idea of price cuz I just paid $25.00 copay!!! Three weeks later, I suddenly remembered how Abilify affected me. I regained this "pause" after a negative thought or feeling and was easily able think logically, positively and not react. I get up out of bed, in a better mood than a long time. I can talk to people again and be myself. I am also on 150 Effexor which I will be titrating down soon. Just thought I would put this out there in case anyone wondering if a med will work the 2nd time. It does!! |
