I'm so depressed I cringe all the time and have been for months. I've been taking Zoloft for 23 day but only 50 mg. for 9 days. I wrote a message to my doctor about this. I don't think Zoloft is making my depression worse but I don't know. Maybe I need to increase the dosage because I haven't felt any side effect except more depression. I'm at a point that I would enter a mental hospital if I didn't have my dog to care for and I'm all alone with no one for support. I'm thinking of putting my house up for sale and move into a retirement center because I'm 68 years old.

Maybe you just need another med. An anti depressant wasn't enough I had to be put on Wellbutrin as well. Or maybe u need to try a different med. either case definitely keep on ur dr about it.

50 mg is a pretty low dose, so after just 23 days, you could probably use an increase. I was taking 200 mg when I went on Zoloft.

I think I was in 200mg Zoloft as well, when I was taking it, and it did far more for my anxiety than Depression

I had one antidepressant given to me to calm my brain due to severe migraines. It aggitated them. Then i was prescribed a different one and it made all the difference in the world. I agree, perhaps a different med is needed. It takes usually about 3 weeks for them to be effective so after that time if you still have difficulties ask for something different, saying the zoloft is not agreeing with you. tc

Hello. 50 mg is low... I stayed at 50 mg though because of side effects because of increase. 200 mg is the max recommended dose, so 50 mg is a bit low... Maybe you should message your doctor about an increase? Maybe it would help. I would watch the depression though and if it gets worse when you increase it, I suggest you contact your doctor to help get off of it. Anyways, hope you feel better soon .
