How do you feel your creativeness has changed on medication?

I've found that my creativity is better with medications than if I'm depressed without them. Depression kills my creativity so if meds help that then I'm still creative.

I feel dull since taking Latuda. Although before antipsychotics most of my "creativity" was not very constructive. I'd write and write for hours in journals thinking that I was making all these epiphanies and that my journals would be a book one day, but in reality, I was just writing boring gibberish that no one would want to read. Now I'm more focused so the things I do are actually constructive.
I miss feeling creative though.

That's at least good that you are able to make more sense. But yeah I understand the whole feeling like you are less creative

I find Seroquel definitely puts a damper on my creativity. I used to write a lot and now I struggle to get a blog post out once a month. The worst part is I have a contract to write a book, and I can't work up any enthusiasm for the project.

Meds puts a damper on my creativity. When I am a little manic or even a bit depressed I become very creative. I love to write so when I am "normal" and in an even mood I have writer's block.

I can be creative on the right meds.

I had a unique experience with Lamictal a few years ago. I got up to taking 200mg. I was super energetic...manic my doc said...but energetic...not euphoric. I'm a musician and songwriter. I wrote 133 songs in 45 days complete with music and lyrics. Really...it's a lot of songs....it's all I did.

As far as the creativity goes, I was witty with my words and puns. There is a lot of fun you can have with words, symbols, hiding messages in the lyrics. Looking back I will probably never revisit 110 of those songs because they lacked real intensity...like it was dull and pointless to write about some of the mundane things I thought to write about. There were a few gems that were worth revising and taking to the masses at some point.

When I got off the Lamictal I kept writing songs..not so many so fast but still wrote.
The quality of the songs are much better now...like I've returned to my normal self. The feedback I get on the songs are better if that's an indicator.

I feel no more and no less creative...but I'm not the most creative person to start with, so there's that...
