I have just been prescribed Vyvanse 30mg for binge eating. After only 2 days I am very confused as to how I am reacting to this.

On Day 1 I had DEBILITATING side effects. Heart rate was 120 most of the day, I couldn't focus, i was experiencing uncontrollable jaw movements, i was jittery, i had to keep moving, extreme anxiety, could not leave my apartment, could barely talk to anyone on the phone, couldn't stop peeing! I was just desperately waiting for it to be over. I ended up drinking a fair amount just to calm myself down. The one thing it did do though was take my obsession of food away. I didn't think of food really at all.

Day 2- nothing! no side effects but lets say also no effects. Ive been hungry and thinking of food all day long. No focus, no increase in concentration or energy, just sort of a dull feeling but very very hungry!

I get everyones different but to have such different effects from day 1 to day 2 makes no sense to me. I do suffer from GAD which is not being treated. I am normally very sensitive to medications and have not been able to tolerate anything for the anxiety. I was not entirely surprise i had side effects on day 1, usually if there is a side effect I get it. But to go from this extreme to no efficacy on day 2?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I am going back to my doctor in 2 weeks and I am going to try the medication again tomorrow but would love to hear others experiences

Vyvanse was really weird and up and down for me at the beginning, too, and it ended up making me feel weird and foggy. I ended up trying IR Dexedrine right after, and personally I like that better. It actually felt smoother somehow, and though I wasn't taking it for binge eating it did lower my appetite more consistently. That's just my experience, though. Good luck, hope ya figure out what works well for you.
Thanks for this!
