I took 10mg Propranolol yesterday before a music rehearsal in case I got nervous. I was in an air-conditioned room and halfway through, I was getting these hot flashes and I was sweating a lot. I thought Propranolol would reduce sweating so I'm not sure if these are from the anxiety, PMS or side effects from the propranol.

Hi, Wolfie. I've taken beta blockers before and I've had the same hot flashes and sweating that you're talking about. I can't remember which one I started on, but I told my psychiatrist about it and she said I shouldn't be reacting that way so I switched to a different beta blocker and they went away. So, for what it's worth, consider telling your doctor about what you're experiencing on them and try a different one, perhaps. Side effects are one thing, but you shouldn't be experiencing what you're trying to avoid.
