I started lamictal a month and a half ago, and because I had tried it before and got a rash, my pdoc wanted to do slow titration. (It wasn't THE rash, just a rash that I wasn't willing to deal with). She had me going up by 12.5mg every 2 weeks, and now going up by 12.5mg every week. I'm at 50mg now, and she wants me to get to 150mg. I calculated that, and that's about another 6 weeks!
Anyone else going really slow on lamictal? I wish that I could go faster so that I could have more effects faster, but pdoc is erring on the side of caution which all in all is probably a good thing...and I do think that I'm responding to it positively. I do feel more stable, and stable isn't a word I could use to describe myself for a VERY long time! |

Yes. I went very slow on lamictal. But it was worth it.

Thanks. So far so good. I had some headaches at the very beginning, but those went away and I haven't had them since the second week at the latest.
I'm hoping that this will do the trick and be the last piece in the puzzle to my stability and perfect cocktail. I'm on 6 psych meds which to me is a lot, but if it stabilizes me and keeps me there, I'll be a happy camper. |
