Anybody taking Clozaril for suicidal thoughts? I do ECT but need something else.

I'm taking clozaril for suicidal depression. I've been on it for about 4 months now (at the right dose). I'm still suicidal and still depressed, though maybe a little more active.

Just got an email from my Dr. that he will start me on a low dose of clozapine to help my suicidal thoughts. I will continue my ECT too, because I really don't have any side effects and I hope the combo handles my suicidal thoughts once and for all!! Looking forward to some clear thinking.

I have been taking clozaril for bipolar and some suicidal ideation and it works pretty well for me (with some other meds).

Clozaril is working really well for me after a 2 year period where I was severely mixed or severely depressed. I've been on it since February at 350 mg and I am much, much better. Suicidal thoughts are gone, I have the ability to function fairly well again,I'm sleeping, etc. Family, therapist and pdoc are all very please with my progress so far.

Bipolar 1, PTSD, GAD, OCD. Clozapine 250 mg, Emsam 12 mg/day patch, topamax 25 mg, ,Gabapentin 1600 mg & 100-2 PRN,. 2.5 mg clonazepam., 75 mg Seroquel and 12.5 mg PRNx2 daily |

Thank you everyone for your responses. Although I am not thrilled to be back on clozaril, I am hoping it works at a relatively low dose so I have none of the side effects.........like weight gain
