I got prescribed xanax for my anxiety in 0.25 mg (lowest dose). Will it make me feel very weird or just more relaxed and not so worried ? I'm a bit nervous, as it is a strong benzo and i know a lot of people also get a 'weird' personality with it
Thanks for this!

No, it will not make you "weird". You will probably feel immensely relieved.
Thanks for this!

It shouldn't make you feel "weird", just less anxious/more relaxed...unless you're like me, and then it'll make you super sleepy.
Thanks for this!

I agree with Sing. It might make you want to nap, but you won't feel wierd.
Thanks for this!

I'm an unusual person but I did get a little weird from Xanax starting it. Not like drugged, actually my mind got really sharp (was also just on a low dosage) and for some reason seeing mistakes people did made me a little annoyed. That was just at the start and it passed.

When my friend tried it she just got sleepy, nothing else.

Unfortunately I know people who are really drugged up on Xanax but take really large dosages and their docs enable them to be drug abusers. Your dosage is the lowest pill of Xanax.

Thank you for your replies
My concern was just that it may keep me from studying properly, though my awful anxiety is also keeping me from focusing.

I would only take as needed. Even at a low dose like that, withdrawal can be bad. I use to take .25's, and they helped a lot, but taking them everyday can lead to a bad withdrawal when stopped, and will only make your anxiety worse. So unless your anxiety is an everyday all day thing, i would be careful with xanex.

I took Xanax .25 for my anxiety. It calmed me down immediately and I used it when I felt extremely anxious and it put me right to sleep/nap. Woke up feeling better about it too. Don't go behind the wheel while you're taking it.

You could try taking a half dose. That works for me to reduce anxiety and still be able to focus.
