My doctor just switch me to Saphris from Seroquel to see if it helps with the weight gain I am having. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with Saphris. I took it last night for the first time and didn't sleep well at all.

Really? Saphris always knocked me out for the count.

It worked well for the symptoms I was taking it for. Hated the taste.

I've been on it for 5 years or so. Knocks me out so I only take it at night. Seems to work well, as I haven't had an episode since I've been taking it. I have lost a bit of weight, too, since then. Tastes nasty, though, doesn't it?

I have been having sleep problems anyways and my Dr said that Seroquel is actually better for sleep but since I was gaining a lot of weight he was willing to switch me to Saphris to give it a try. Plus he is hoping it will help with the hypomania I am experiencing right now. The taste is awful and it made my tongue numb. He said if the 5mg doesn't work I can try 10mg.

I am on 20 mg...maybe that's why I sleep and you may not. Maybe going up in dose is not a bad thing.

I take 10mg of Saphris at noon. I was taking 12.5mg as well at bedtime. It knocks me out. Best sleep ever. I have gained weight on it though so my pdoc is switching me to Geodon. It really leveled me out and made me stable. Been taking it almost ten months.

I used to take Saphris 5mg at bedtime and if it didn't put me right out I would just take Tylenol PM...rarely though..

I didn't gain weight. I loved Saphris but it slowed me down too much when I had to go up to 15mg. I went to another med then.

Gotta love that black cherry cocaine flavor...I took it before they flavored it....you had to really want to take it to put up with it. think bad oysters in a dirty diaper.

I'm sure you know but it's sublingual...if you swallow it you won't sleep right away.
