Has anyone stopped taking Lamictal due to a burning skin sensation, without a rash? I just started Lamictal a couple of weeks ago and today my face feels sun burned, but it's not.
I'll call my pdoc tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar.

I was on Lamictal for quite a while, and do remember that Stevens Johnson Syndrome is a side-effect. When I researched it, I found out that you can end up in the burn ward of a trauma center from Stevens Johnson Syndrome, and once it gets started, it's incredibly hard to stop.
Google Stevens Johnson Syndrome for yourself before you take any more Lamictal. Nothing is worth ending up in the burn ward.

Hello Disorder7: Hope you called your doc & you're okay. I was put on Lamictal. Nothing was said with regard to the potential for Lamictal rash.

I had the same when put on Lamictal at an initial dose that turned out to be too high (100 IIRC). Burning sensation that slowly spread, no rash. Then that night I woke up to intense burning, itching, swelling, and the rash. Right to the ER, where doctors gathered to see the "rash of death" (pretty sure I wasn't supposed to hear that). Nightmare. I'd suggest everyone with any skin side effect on Lamictal at least immediately call the doc.
