I was diagnosed with Conversion Disorder back in November 2015. First episode resolved itself in about five days. Another severe episode recurred started June 23rd, 2016. About a month before, I was FINALLY starting to wean off of my Klonopin after being on 1.5mg, starting at .5 x1 daily PRN for anxiety in September of 2015. After the CD diagnosis, my pdoc told me to take it consistently because benzos are one way to treat CD.
In May 2016, we'd knocked it down to .5mg 2x daily. I did FINE, no issues, no mood cycling, until the second week of June. Unfortunately, benzos treating CD had proven true. Re-upping my Klonopin to 1.5mg (.5mg in the morning and 1mg at night) has reduced the severity of many of the symptoms excluding the stutter. Pisses me off because I was ready to get off the Klonopin and sub in a less hazardous/addictive anxiety med. I have a family history of substance abuse in the two previous consecutive paternal generations (grandfather died of cirrhosis of the liver, uncle recovering alcohol/drug addict, father currently in treatment for opioid/benzo addiction). Has anyone else been treated with benzos for Conversion Disorder or another somatoform disorder out of curiosity? I'm also on 150mg of bupropoon HCL XL, 15mg Adderall XR, 50mg topirimate, 200mg lamotrigine, and 25mg metaprolol succinate ER.

I've been taking benzos for anxiety and psychotic aggression and my tolerance has increased eightfold over a year, so what 5 mg did for me last year now takes 40 mg. Ask yourself if you want to get involved with a drug like this.

It's one of the treatments for Conversion Disorder. I'm in therapy for it, but a CD episode was even triggered by a medication given to treat the idiopathic tachycardia. What got the symptoms to start tapering off to the point where I can return to work is the re-up in the benzo.
