Hi everyone , this is kind of a review for me and I'm looking for cold hard facts in print.
I can take 25-50mg of seroquel at night to sleep. My nurse recommended I do that until the next time I see her due to the incredible stress I'm under. I've had more dx in the past 11 months then I have in my whole life: gad, mood disorder, jaw pain, lightheadedness and emotional stress on top of the PTSD I've been living with for over a decade. I was verbally diagnosed with dysthymia a decade ago and I guess the mood disorder makes it official, and I was verbally diagnosed with complex PTSD but we know that's not a dsm-v diagnosis. I have both forms of PTSD. So I need to sleep. Can anyone give me cold hard facts on how long it takes 25mg of seroquel to works as a sleep aid and how long the half life is? Initially my np gave me Gabapentin to try as an alternative because the half life is shorter but we got up to 300mg and it was having no effect so we pulled the plug on that one. I know Google is my friend but so are you and I can use all the help I can get at this point. Thank you for reading . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hi leomama, This is my experience with Seroquel: For the first few months I'd take the Seroquel and within 5 minutes I would be so sleepy I literally had to lie down right away, or I'd become terribly lightheaded and off balance. I fell asleep immediately.
After about 6 months that intense sleepiness went away. Now I take 100mg of Seroquel an hour before I go to sleep. It makes me quite sleepy about an hour after taking it, but the effect is definitely not as strong as it was. I wake up without a hang-over feeling. |

Half life is 6 hours and effects seen within 2 days of initiation (scroll down the link). |

25mg of seroquel wouldn't put me to sleep. It would maybe lower my anxiety a bit, but that's it. I was on 200mg for sleep (100mg wasn't enough) and after I took it it took about a half hour before I was out and down for the count.

ty, actually last time round I had to cut it down to 12.5 and then even that was too much. Last week I took it twice and found myself not wanting to get out of bed, and I had a meeting at noon and that was unacceptable, that's why I'm taking radical action tonight. Taking it 9:30pm no matter what as my alarm is going off between 7:30am and 8am tomorrow morning and I already bought a mama chia with 90mg of natural caffeine in so I can wake up. I am not happy about this situation, but I am even less happy about getting 6 hours or less a night for one week straight so its time I change this. I can not lessen the stress in my life so I am going to have to be violent about taking care of myself, seize the kingdom of heaven by force, if you will.
