Hi, werewolf_7, and welcome to Psych Central! I'm not familiar with that drug. Maybe someone will come along who has taken it. Is it new? What else does it go by?

Hi werewolf_7 - I have been taking Trintellix since it was first approved for use in Canada - fall of 2013 - at that time I was willing to try anything. I recall initial side effect was mainly nausea - it has helped with my cognizant function - I am able to read and write now - I am able to remember most of passwords on the computer now and my banking information and I don't get lost much any more ie getting on the wrong bus, forgetting where a place is even though I have been there numerous times. I think you are the only other person that I know of that is taking it. I am also on other medications, Lamotrigene, Zopiclone, Mirtazapine, and Dexedrine spansule. Is there a particular reason that you are taking it?

I've been on trintellix for a month and a half now. It does enhance cognitive functioning but it caused me severe SD. and it did not help with anhedonia. def gonna stop it. Not sure which med I should try next.
Please someone help.

Hey werewolf. I've been on Trintellix for about 2 months now. I started on 10mg, went up to 20mg after 1 week, and then settled down at 15mg at week 3 (due to nausea at). I'm also taking Wellbutrin (150mg XL), and Remeron (Mirtazapine) 15 to 30mg at night as needed for sleep.

I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised with Trintellix. I was taking Lexapro before which is an SSRI that I've used in the past. The difference for me has been that SSRIs make me feel kind of numb, or like, not caring about others. SSRIs kind of kill my empathy.
Trintellix has been better. It apparently is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, but it also acts on other brain receptors which grants it a unique function.

After the switch to Trintellix I noticed that I regained my empathy, and also was able to get "excited" about things in a way that was dulled before. I feel like my emotional range has been somewhat restored.

Let me know how you are doing with it, since everyone is different!
Thanks for this!
