Which antipsychotic meds do you feel are the most sedating/made you feel like a zombie or "out of it" a lot? Also, which AP's were less likely to cause that feeling in your experience?

Seroquel sometimes has that super sedating effect on me, especially when I was on the XR, where I felt drunk. Sometimes I wonder if a switch to a different AP would help. Abilify was less sedating, but did not work for me. Just wondering about others' experiences.

I always took Seroquel just before I went to sleep, so I could get a solid eight hours of repetitive, disturbing dreams. No zombie issues.
Thanks for this!

Zyprexa numbed me out pretty good...but I didn't know/realize it until I switched to Vraylar on which I can actually feel emotion in a very different, probably "normal" way.
Thanks for this!

I thought that Zyprexa really made me feel out of it. I thought that Latuda and Rexulti made me least out of it.

Zyprexa is initially pretty sedating but after taking it for a while it lost that effect. Latuda doesn't make me tired at all.

Seroquel for sure, I take it at night and sure enough, when I get up.....I am a zombie. My husband calls it "Seroquel face". I'm usually back to normal several hours later, but sometimes not.

Most sedating was seroquel or haldol.

Less sedating amisulpride, actually, there is not sedation at all.

I have also taken abilify, geodon, zyprexa, risperidona, trilafon, ...

haloperidol/serenace was the most sedating for me,im on it now around 10mg daily but even at lower doses it was very sedating.

respiridone/risperdal had no sedating effect on me but it also didnt work for my issues either.

For me it has been Haldol, Thorazine, Seroquel, Zittus, Xanax, Geodon, Lithium. I have taken alot of meds over the years and am pretty happy with Zyprexa. It's up to you, everyone reacts to meds very differently.
