I was wondering how much effexor everyone was taking? I have been on a dose of 600 mg. in the morning for 16 yrs. I was wondering if anyone is on a higher dose? Looking to possibly increase it if allowed and would like some others input on the doses they are taking. Thank you.

Wow - that's a high dose. I'm on 375 mg/day and my pdoc won't increase it any further. Have you thought of instead of increasing it, adding another AD or an AAP. That's what I've done. I added Celexa and it really helped pull me out of a depressive episode. I also take Risperidone and find it helps with my mood quite a bit.

Thank you for your response. I take abilify, welbutrin and seroquel also. I just feel that the dr has kept me on the effexor XR for so long because of the withdrawal problems. I have heard that people in the UK are sometimes put on up to a 1000 mg. Hoping I might get a jolt if I were to increase the effexor a bit.

Thank you again for your response..
