My pdoc started me at a dose of 100mg because he was hoping to not waste time. He told me that the main side effect would be nausea well he wasn't joking. I have been in the bathroom all day, I will let you use your imagination on that one. So now I had to call my regular dr to get zofran so that I can get back out of bed. Plus I have a splitting headache which isn't helping the matter. And I am agitated and could really use a klonopin.

What are others experiences on Zoloft? My pdoc finally gave in to an antidepressant, he didn't want to use one since I have been newly diagnosed as bipolar.

I'm so sorry, that sounds terrible. I'm on Zoloft and have never had nausea from it.

Since your still on it, might as well continue until the nausea stops. If not, start on 50mg and you'll see an improvement I'm sure.

The nausea should pass, I think I only had it for a few days to a week. I find it really helpful when I was on it so it was worth it. Hope you feel better soon

Zoloft is killing me. I am still on a half dose. I am barely eating and still nauseous. I had diarrhea this morning. Also I have been extremely agitated this whole time. I called my pdoc today to get off this med.

In my opinion, the dose you started on was far too high. I've never heard of such a thing. In my experience, people start Zoloft at 25-50mg.

I don't remember if I started at 25 or 50mg but was having a lot of the same issues. Something that helped me with the stomach side effects was to eat before I took the morning dose. Taking it on an empty stomach seemed to make things several times worse. Also, in the afternoon the stomach side effects would peak again so I would make sure to eat before it happened.

I didn't experience agitation per se, it felt more like a jitteriness, over awareness, or being on edge. It reminded me of accidentally drinking too much caffeine. It eventually went away. I think it it because antidepressants can be stimulating at times.

My pdoc is having me stop it. He thinks I was getting the start of Serotonin Syndrome. The agitation was unbearable. I have lost 6 pounds since Saturday. I am still having trouble eating. I hope tomorrow is better when I don't take it.

I'm so sorry you've had such a bad experience, Crook32. Did your pdoc prescribe a different medication?
